What do y'all get as loaners from your local MB dealer?
Recently I've been having some issues with my W221 so its been in and out of my local MB service dept. Of the few times its been there, (for warranty work, not routine maintenance) I've been given cars like the Yaris, Accent, Caliber, and Versa. Yes, I did not purchase from this dealership but felt that it should at least be something with P/W and P/L dont you guys think? (they do offer C300 loaners but at a $20 upgrade charge/day) Over at Lexus they offer RX350's as loaners even if you just bring in either ES or IS but I guess over here at MB land when you bring in a V12 W221 all you get to choose are enterprise economy level rentals......but what I wanted to ask you guys here is "what do you guys get as loaners when you bring your MB in for repair?"

A local family owned dealer pulled the same crap a while back however, after a number of owners complained to the general manager he terminated the policy and c-class loaners were once again made available at no cost to clients who purchased from the dealership for both warranty & service work.

If accustomed to driving a 600 or 65, any loaner is a huge step-down (and downright scary to drive, even at 65MPH)
Thankfully, over the yrs, my MBs have been rather reliable and glitch-free, but when I've had rear tires replaced (@~6K mis) have had some newer C or E-Class as a "free" loaner for the day
Must say driving these C/E-Class (even briefly) makes one really appreciate engineering/safety/comfort/aesthetic value of a new 600 or 65
Loaners really vary by dealer and one's relationship w/dealer; many (esp minor mkt) Ferrari dealers lack loaner cars, even for guys bringing in a $400K 599 for new rear tires or the many glitches new F often have; but Lexus (or any US or Asian brands) are such POS w/dubious active/passive safety, so meaningless what loaners they offer
Safety engineering and reliability of one's own car will always supersede any loaner car offered

i think every single dealer in southern CA do the same thing, if your car wasn't purchase from that dealership, they will only offer an entry level enterprise rental and will ask for the $20 upgrade on a C class

Is that even possible for you?
Ignorance at its finest.
To touch on the topic at hand, I've gotten 203/204 C classes as loaners and I've also gotten an ML350 (that I hated). Now that I'm out of warranty, I get the shuttle and just use my other car for the time being.

It does vary by dealership and, quite possibly, how "well" they do in terms of comps and whatnot from MBUSA corporate. In S. Florida, I go to one dealership and they'll give me a Toyota Corolla SE. Another one gives out C300s ( I just dropped it off yesterday).
I said to the Enterprise rep "A Corolla??" Her response: "But it IS a 2009". They had MBs you could rent, but not for loaners.
I purchased my vehicle at neither dealership...

I was allowed to use one of those new GLK's ( I think that is what it's called), the new little SUV. It was nice but has no more cargo/passenger room than a C class....just jacked up to look like an SUV.
Most of the time I get either a C class or an Infiniti XXX. My Benz dealership is also an Infiniti dealership also. However, lately I've noticed that they only use MBs for rental cars. I pay nothing if my car is in for routine service and repairs.

YUP +1 to Markopolo my dealer gives me either ML350's or C classes. One time I found it pretty cool when they gave me a brand new C-300. 10 miles jus off the lot. I had a lil fun with it if you were wondering , but yeh my MB dealer treats me right

Can you make a single post without saying something absolutely retarded?

Bought my car in Dallas. The first time I took it to MB-of-Austin they put me in a brand new C350.
Also - their svc. dept. was very professional and friendly. No complaints so far.

Used to take my last car (S500) to Hoen in Carlsbad. Didn't buy the car from them but had purchased previously from there. The last time I was there the put me in a Dodge Neon! They explained the new policy of the POS loaner since I did not purchase my car from them.
THAT was the last time I have ever stepped foot into the dealership for showroom browse or service about 5 years ago. I use Escondido MB or San Diego MB. Very professional. Receive C300 or new GLK. They charge $20 fuel fee.

when my 07 s550 is in the service dept for something, my dealer, mercedes of westmont (western chicago suburb), gives me either a 09 c-class or 09 ml-class.
likewise, when my 09 x5 went in for service, my dealer, bmw of westmont gave me a 09 5-series sedan.
all comped.

I was going through the sunday papers and noticed some MB dealers selling 09 E350's but with a fine print "previous loaner" in the ad. So who's getting these E350's as loaners because most of you guys are getting a C or GLK at most?
