It's at the Dealership now. Not sure how much the price is on the batteries, or if that's even what they will say is wrong. I'll call them first thing in the morning and run that by the service guy. Maybe that will eliminate a lot of unnecessary diagnostics...

Well, I took it to the dealer and they tested both batteries and yep, both were reading low voltage. $647 for replacement plus diagnostic. At least I got to drive a pretty cool loaner car. 2011 E-Class. But I still miss my S550.

I remember my service advisor telling me mb needs around 16v not the normal 12v like other cars. Replacing both battery is an option. Another option is disconnect both battery and wait 15 mins then reconnect. The front battery is aux. Rear is the main unit. Hope that helps
front battery and small one is for starter motor.

good first step before deciding to buy a new set of batteries.
