2010 S550 Base Price Increase: 2.5% + Guide
Based on this post:
http://www.benzblogger.com/2009/07/2...d-release.html
Base price of the S550 will go from $89,350 to $91,600. (Approx. 2.5%)
Not sure about pricing on the options.
Interesting that the S400 Hybrid will be less expensive... most people expected it to be slightly higher.
Update: Full guide is attached showing option pricing as well.

Thx for posting: interesting data
IIRC, '10 E-Class had a ?10% price reduction over '09 version due to lower R&D costs in era of ever-cheaper testing/simulation software
Given most new S/CLs are leased (and a high % are alleged business use cars, so IRS subsidizes bill), real questions are discts available at reputed dealers and lease terms (MF and residuals on $0 down, 2-3yr leases) esp in era of tighter credit for Daimler and losses now recognized on recently returned lease cars that may have been "sold" in past with absurdly cheap, mispriced leases

I don't see that S hybrid selling too well in the US - buyers of $100K cars don't care about gas mileage.
The exterior color choices seem sparse for a car at this level.

You're right that cost of gas probably won't be the primary concern of S400 buyers. It will be image: being seen as on the cutting-edge of tech., and environmentally friendly.

Actually, I'm considering buying a S400 for my parents. My dad is a "S" class guy. He's still driving his 20yr+ 420SEL around.
He doesn't really care between s400/s550/etc, so why not go for the cheapest one available in the U.S.? And it gives good milage to boot.
Second, at least in the EU they are offering the S400 w/ the AMG Sports Package which is a huge plus in my book.
Sure if it turns out the S400 is within $2k of a similarly configured S550 because there is a discount on the S550 but not on the S400, then I'll switch to the S550.
But yeah since they no longer offer a S350 in the US, the S400 might be a good fit, but yeah at the end of the day, anyone buying the S-Class doesn't care about the gas milage and if they do, they really can't afford the car to begin with.

I agree. I'm anxious to see the MF and residual offered on the 2010 S550 next month. For example, my current fully equipped 750Li has a 36 month lease (.0012 MF, 47% res.) at $1700 per month including tax. A fully loaded S550 would be $2000 per month (including tax) at the current (.00193 MF, 45% res.)

I was quoted a 2009 S550 4matic P3 Sport w/10K miles/year and no money down for $1,130 which includes CT tax (39 month lease).

As far as I know they are only now (August) starting production of them at the factory. Expect to see them stateside in 4-6 week at the earliest.

What amazes me is how there are ANY new models showing up after seeing all of those stock piled vehicles stored at shipyards that they couldn't get rid of .nowonder I'm seeing a brand new 2009 S600 for sale for only $120K. I remember seeing hundreds and hundreds of ordered MB's and other cars stacked up against each other in port terminals with no where to go last fall. I'm sure those are still jammed up at the ports , so how do they expect to get rid of these is a mystery?

The leases are all crappy. You'd do better to finance, my dealer said leases are mostly swinging over to finance because the residuals are so discouraging and you can get some help on the rates. I found that the discount on new 550 is maybe 5g or a bit better but they are trying to prop up pricing in a slow market by not taking on a lot of vehicles and no one wants the leases coming back if they can help it. Hybrid has no 4matic.

someone tell me what a decent lease offer is on a 2009 right now? can anyone check their local dealers for me? that would be greatly apprestiated. 12k miles a year. 5k down.
