The Best of Mercedes & AMG
That said, am not surprised by low trade-in value of used, $150K+ (when new) luxury cars...drive any $150K+ MB/P/F for 3yrs and ~45K mis and will likely find similar depreciation on an absolute dollar basis (and prob higher maintenance costs)
Besides, cars are much like smartphones; new-gen copies like '07 S600 were clearly highest-tech cars in world at their launch; had pristine new car feel which buyers of new copies enjoy; most buyers leased them for 2-3yrs and are simply rolling into another 2-3 yr lease of a new 600/65, until all-new S-Class arrives...much like people get new Blackberries or iPhones every yr or so....a combination of obsolescence/debugging/decay of use (and in case of cars, absurd time/costs/hassles of repairing/maintaining an incredibly complex car after 3 yrs of use, no matter alleged warranty)
$10k/year depreciation. And like WSH said, You experienced the best..and still are.

I am surprised. I figured the 600 would be mid 60's. On the opposite I'm also surprised the 65's are as high as they are. I figured they would be 80's. There are a few good ones retailing in 90's.
do you notice any price differences affected by the $14K & $19K incentive for MY09 and MY08 respectively? if so, by how much. Thanks

Thing that sucks (or is great, depends on where you're looking at it from), is the AMG Package S's command a pretty large price premium, I've noticed all other things equal, the AMG Package will usually command at least a $5K premium, pretty good considering usually once cars get a few or so years old, all the options and goodies, etc. get jumbled, and you usually can't get too much more for the goodies.
