Thanks for your price sharing. Can elaborate on the tricky leasing and financing games?
And, do these tricks relate to the 1.9% financing that I see advertised around?
Sorry for the newbie questions, just recently joined the forum to get up to speed on the MBZs.
Thanks in advance.

Since the dealer is selling the cars for practically no profit they need to make money from the financing. IF YOU ARE PAYING CASH this will not apply to you.
When leasing, they will ask you to put more money down or increase you monthly payment. You just need to calculate what your monthly payment will be with the drive off. Check out lease compare to get an idea of the down payment and the monthly payment. Remember the purchase price of the car will affect the driveoff and the monthly payment.
When you finance they will jack up the interest rate so they can make money off of you that way. If you are tier 1 credit you should get the best rate or just get your own financing from Credit Unions or your own bank.......

Thanks for your prompt response! So did you still get a decent lease or decent financing rate with this discount? Will they allow me to bring my own financing and get that discount?
Do you mind sharing your terms? TIA!

The dealers I went to had no problem dealing aggressively on straight cash propositions. Lease rates are now loaded in favor of the dealers with the lower assumptions on residual value. Don't assume you can't get a great deal on cash. The hardest part is finding the car you want at this time of year- color and options. Trying to find decent options without AMG/Sports stuff was difficult.

I NEED HELP @ THE MB DEALERSHIP IN BK
hey lungs thats a great price ... i went into the same dealership and tried to get a 2007 or 2008 and the lady quoted me 65k for a fully loaded s550 2007 without rear view camera and no comfort seats package and the s550 2008 which was fully loaded without the comfort seats also she was trying to sell to me for 77k. her name was tanya and im like tanya look this is a lil expensive for a used car. She REALLY tried to convince me that the value of some cars actually go back up lol. It boggled me that she was trying to talk to me like i didnt have any sense. She said the most she would be able to take off the car would be $500- $1000 thats it. . im like thats crazy. But then i realized why she wasnt trying to negotiate ... i had my breitling watch and i guess she thought i was a rapper or something... Well i was wondering if you could tell me who you spoke with and who gave you that deal so i can also get a similar deal!??!?!?!?!? this time i will walk in w/o the watch smh, sorry for being stupid...

I told the dayum lady (tanya gotta put her on blast) at mb in brooklyn that i would give her 55k cash for the 2007 s550 if she dropped it from 66k to 55k and she said she doesnt make anything more if i pay cash or finance ... is she lying?

I'm in Brooklyn too and will look for S in about 4-5 months, but I'm constantly browsing internet for good deals on used S. I got this yesterday from Greenwich Infinity. The car looks perfect, clean carfax...check it out. It cost much less than $55K ...Guys in Sovereign just too spoiled. I would never buy a car form them.

Thanks I'm going to try and take a look at it. I was thinking about waiting for another 4 months or getting it for the summer. I am just hoping to get a fully equipped 2007 s550 FULLY loaded 4matic and sport Amg kit pano roof comfort seats and rear camera. there are not too many Benz dealers in NY so it's difficult to get a good deal. Like my screen name I'm trying to buy my first Benz and I want it to be a nice one too. But I know with the new 2010 models out including hybrid models ... They should be drastically dropping the prices

Think twice about 4matic. You lose a lot of performance with 4 wheel drive. I used to have E 4Matic and changed it to RWD model. Feels much sportier and funny to drive. You need 4Matic only 3-5 days a year.
Take xar service those days...Do yourself a favor...it will be more expensive to fix this car after accident than $30-$40 price for car service ))

I'm looking for a new 2009 S550 in any color other than white or black. Prefer RWD and no sport package but will consider those too as long as the dealer is willing to make a deal. Based on this thread, I am assuming I should be able to buy the car for $20k off sticker. Anyone know of a dealer with a car like this in stock? I am in the central US but will fly to either coast and drive it home.

advice on purchasing 07/08 vs. 09 vs. 10
Looking on some solid advice on which type of S I should purchase.
option 1: 07 or 08 with 30k miles in the $50k range (would buy cpo)
option 2: brand new 09 w/ 20-25k off mrsp after taxes and fees i'll probably be in the 85k range
option 3: lease '10 p2 w/ sunshade 10k down apprx 1375 a month so i'll be in 59k at the end of the lease.
the heart wants to go w/ the '10 w/ facelift but the brain says it's the least economical. (25k for new headlights is not worth it!)
going w/ an 09 purchase basically puts me near '10 pricing
going 07/08 might lead to potential issues down the road...
thanks in advance!

I'm in the same boat, but decided to go either option 2 or 3.
I'm leaning toward option 2 at this point because the discounts seem pretty aggressive.
How do you figure an '09 purchase putting you near '10 pricing?

Russ in OK: If you like your local dealer don't worry if he has no stock. Most dealers will look within their region and then nationally to find a deal, out of region adds some transportation costs. If you eliminate white and black and sports packages it gets very thin, especially if you want some additional features like distronic or MC seats.

S550 vs S600?
The 600 is an amazing car. Give it serious consideration. It has every option benz makes, premium leather everywhere and the V12 bi turbo. Silky smooth but fast and powerful. There is a bigger difference between the 550 and 600 than you would think. Some of the difference is difficult to articulate, you just feel it.
I traded in my 06 S500 designo 4 matic (all wheel drive is boring) for a leftover 09 S600. Best decision I ever made when buying a benz. I bought it from Ingrinhausen in Illinois. Better deal than I could find locally. Discount was 30k off sticker, it has the 19" wheels, bluetooth and Ipod. They shipped it as well.

Thank you. I couldn't be more pleased with it. You''ve hit exactly on what I am hoping, not to get that 2 year itch for a car cause its run it course. This is the first time I have bought not thinking in the back of my mind what I would like to move up to "next time". I expect I will want to have this car a long, long time.
