I know, I know - it's an S class forum.

Since I've been posting on here recently and had a hard decision to make between a 2010 S550 and a 2009 750LI, I thought some of you might enjoy seeing how the adventure is going...

Thats awesome sir. Although I would probably go with the MB, 7 series have always been great cars.

Enjoy your new uber BMW.

Thanks gents. I just dropped it off in Paris and now begins the long wait for re-delivery! (I estimate 58 days)

Hayden thanks so much for taking me on your trip tonight. I grabbed my laptop for just a little work and thought I would just quickly check out the MB Forums before my work. Well I saw your new thread and thought I would briefly check it out. Well that was about an hour and half ago!!!! Great write up. Very detailed and thorough. Pics were fantastic! Was showing my wife many of the pics and telling her we need to get back ASAP!!!! Congrats on the car! The more I saw it in the photo's the more I like it.

Man oh man!

5 pages on the bimmerfest about your trip to Germany! Wow! I read the first 3 pages and will read the rest tomorrow. I already feel like I went on the trip myself!

So, how's the care treating you (or you treating it)?

Fantastic. I was just in Cannes and Monte Carlo last year on a cruise. Beautiful place. And you are right about getting taxi in Monte Carlo.....it's darn near impossible!

Thanks for the experience!

Thanks all for the comments and praise. We are now home and getting back into the old routine.

We are already planning our next European Delivery in 3 years! A fantastic experience with a nice savings on the car. Only question is if it will be the next S class or another 7. (probably a year too soon for the 7 refresh)

Overall I really like the 7. The technology is great. Side view cameras, Head up display, Integral active steering (rear wheels), etc.

The iDrive is finally done right. It's fantasitc and very easy to use.

I also really love the matte wood inside. I think it makes the interior look much more elegant than the glossy options.

Only issue is that it can be a little jerky accelerating from a stop. It takes a little effort to have it move off smoothly. (most likely related to the turbos) But once you're moving the 400 hp really feels good!

---

Just found out the car was assigned to a ship and should arrive at port in California on Oct 11th. I expect to pick it up at the dealer about two weeks after that.

That shaves about 2 weeks off my expected redelivery date of November 8th!
