I was just thinking about this situation more... if all the systems failed like the trans selector switch, the Engine Start/off button, brakes, etc, I also would probably panic. Wow creepy to think about.

Yes. This thread does get the mind scraping for ideas as to what to do and how you would react. These cars are like trying to pin down a locomotive.

It may be difficult to move a manual tranny stick to neutral if the engine is running at full power and brakes are applied while the electronic auto tranny lever would move smoothly. Likely more of an issue for ladies than men, one should use brute force and not panic if the stick needs more force than normally.

How about an anchor (boat anchor) or a parachute?

Just kidding...

LOL. This was on the 2009 ESF vehicle right?

Any news about whether or not this is going to be a part of Pre-Safe on the S-Class? If so, when?

w164 ml350
Same situation 5 min ago...

Hi mates...
just a couple min ago while driving my ml350 w164, after a kick down my acc. pedal remained stuck on floor for about 10 sec inside city with full power....
just to tell you a have an 35 years driving experience with powrfull cars, i was totally scared to death....All i was thrying to do was keep the car on a empty lane and push all the way the brakes but the problem occured at a speed of 100 + kms and accelerating!!!
i nearly runned out of brakeds(hooooot) and the last minute i managed with my left foot to touch gas pedal underneath and push it back in rest position....
Still trying to find out what was the problem and surely it was NOT the bloody mat !!!
