Most popular color
With my 550 I searched for the color I purchased (Barolo Red) and it took considerable time to find. Since purchasing I have been pummeled with complements on my choice. Several acquaintance's have asked what other colors were popular and I have listed the ones I am most familiar with, but it had me thinking... I rarely see much more than black & silver with the occasional white. I would like to know what are our thoughts on the most attractive hues?

Interestingly, I was at the Frankfurt Auto Show on Saturday and white vehicles (all brands, all models) outpaced any other color by a wide margin. Sure is the fashionable color this year. Wonder if it'll last to the 2011 show.
As you walk in the M-B hall entrance, there's a striking display of all the car classes...each in white.
And the flagship S400 Hybrid was featured in a prominent place inside the Mercedes area...again, in white.
But the Maybach was in something similar to Flint Gray. Very elegant color and my poll choice.

Even though mine is black , I voted White.
What is weird is how hard it is to find a white car with any other interior other than beige.
I would want mine with charcoal leather.

Color is a personal choice
Arguably 99% of buyers of $100K+ cars have dubious taste and are simply trying to buy "status" or youth to impress clueless
Have gotten new AMG/F/P every 6 mos for 10+ yrs and have never seen a color combo as interesting as silver/blk w/MB's advcd paints and higher-tech nano clear coat
Color is only one layer....65 has advantage of properly finished leather/cf/alcantara interiors with their elegant look/aroma, as opposed to nasty look/stench of plastic in a 550/63 interior

I think White is the New black. Most dealers have started displaying lighter colors in their showrooms, especially White.
Nonetheless Black is Most rewarding after a Good Wash.

I must admit that White was my original choice as well... But then I fell for the Barolo. That Capri blue may have taken me away if I had EVER found one. They must be as rare as green.

I was kinda hoping people would vote according to colors they have not they would maybe like if something happened
White is nice but S-Class looks better with metallic colors. I especially like Graphite grey from designo selection.

I mostly had black cars and this is my 2nd silver. I like it more - it's so practical, you don't have to do much to make it look clean.
I was kinda hoping people would vote according to colors they have not they would maybe like if something happened

The perfect color for the s class
I think specific cars have colors they just look best in. If you were buying a Ferrari it's red. No color looks better than red on a Ferrari. For an S-class Mercedes it's black. No other color gives the car quite the same prestigious look, and in my opinion the plain 040 black looks better then any of the metallics. Good news is I hear you can get a designo on the inside and 040 black on the outside now.
In the past, it was a lot of work to keep a black car looking good. Today with the new nano particle paint it really isn't hard at all.

When I purchased my 2008 at the end of last year, I wanted black, but the only one available was one in Chicago with 12,000 miles that for some reason was still listed as new on the dealers' website. Went with silver/grey interior at recommendation of my salesman and must say I'm very pleased. Car looks great, even when it's a little dirty, which can't be said about black. However, if I ordered a car today, it would be the diamond white- just a gorgeous color.

I gotta say Diamond White would be my choice right now too. I can't do flat White's as they start taking away from the cars beauty after a while IMO. Also I can't do Black as IMO it makes cars look relatively "flat" as well, and hides all the lines, takes away from a great design, not to mention unless you're the most **** person in the world, it shows age faster as it doesn't retain that "new" and unflawed look for too long.
Silver has always been my favourite car color, enough spark to compliment a design, but not overbearing enough to distract away from it, and doesn't get tiring to look at, just a pretty classy color all in all IMO.

2010 S600 sold
[QUOTE=NJS430;3727076] Good news is I hear you can get a designo on the inside and 040 black on the outside now.
Is this true for the 2010 S? BTW, does anybody know what color combinations in designo are available for the S/600/63/65?

White, IMO, is too feminine.
Diamond white is a bit different story, but still ..."wedding-mobile"
Silver is a safe choice and timeless, that's why there is too many of them on the road.
Black, too flat and unless CL body or S63/65 somebody can be mistaken for a chauffeur.
Off shoots of black or very dark colors like Majestic Black, Capri Blue or Designo colors like eg. Mocha Black. would be my choice.
I think it's absolutely worth to go Designo route.

Whoa. Black looks to be a strong choice even with all of the positive white banter. A pal of mine has an S65 in black and it is striking without a doubt. But the presence of the AMG stance helps a lot. Just this morning one of my star employees commented that he thought my car looked black and gorgeous when I pulled in the lot, so there could be something to markopolo's thoughts on "off shoots of black or very dark colors" pulling in some fans.

You have uncanny ability to **** some "poor souls"(no pun intended-God forbid) here who can't take a joke.
Don't you ever dare to stop
Now, let's continue to talk colors!

But still, black is a swirl mark nightmare. It takes constant effort to keep clean looking.

Why don't you all update your profiles with colors and also the signature can be a bit richer
I will update mine and you can follow if you want, sometimes it's good to know what options and other details do the fellow members have
