New S600 (At least for me)

Got a new (late 08) S600 from a local dealer. Traded in my CLS for it - got a decent trade-in value because I had all the popular options.

night assist

alcantara headliner

every option made by Mercedes... I couldnt be more thrilled.

It is a HUGE improvement in every way over a "regular" S550 - which a lot of people at my work have.

The biggest pro however - most people dont know the difference between an S600 and an S550 - so noone give me a ton of sh_t for driving a managing partner type car.

P.S. Love the power!

Congrats ,
Sleeping monster.
There is nothing like V12TT in such a nice wrap-around, right?

More pics please!

Congrats

Indeed, 600/65 are the ultimate stealth wealth missles...a sublime balance of tq/precision/safety and an elegant, contemporary interior w/finer-grained leathers/Alcantara...really appeal to those w/refined tastes but prefer anonymity

Also like fact that mass-produced commuter cars like S-Class tend to be debugged more quickly post-launch and have more real-world crash data than limited production garage queens

That headliner is fantastic. On my way to dinner with friends tonight I will be looking at mine - and I will be pissed.

Congratulations. I like the CL type wheels on your 2008 S600. The V12 TT is a great engine...too bad it only comes with the 5-speed transmission. I was driving my CL600 today and lamenting on how much smoother the shifts were on my 2007 S550.

in Saudi Arabia you can get S350 with all of the options in the S600 except the V12 TT for sure.

Congrats - welcome to the 2008 S600 club!

I still love to push my fingers into the soft Alcantara headliner... its a wonderful tactile experience! (The car drives good too)

Very nice, how does it compare to the CLS? I know you have more HP but is the car an overall big difference or only slightly better?

Thats exectly where I work 215/Rainbow - Boyd Gaming building (the middle one)

I thought I saw another black S600...with custom rims?

As for the difference between CLS - night and day build quality difference. Power wise my CLS was no slouch either, but the S600 is way more powerful.

I could not agree more SLK320 and congratulations on your new classic. I picked up an S600 about a month ago, and aside from the interior upgrades, the best part about it is the stealth engine. The only indicator on the outside of the vehicle for the uninformed are the V12s on the side. I get the same reaction from all my male friends and acquaintances that see it for the first time - "Does it really have a V12"? One spirited ride on a straight away freeway and they are aware that yes, it truly does have a magnificient V12.

Enjoy your beautiful car (mine is black also, though with black leather). Be sure to punch it every chance you get!

Stephen
