S550 or S600?
It looks sweet! If I had the extra I'd have snatched it up.
So to make the bank happy , the Benz has to go in order to make the paperwork look good in front of an underwriter. If I don't hear from you within a week or so (before New Years), it will be traded off at a local Ford dealership as I will go into a 2010 F150 as my alternative transportation. Later I hope to get back in the saddle with a Benz.
The only thing my car needs is new rear tires. Other than that, she is PERFECT.
The decision for you is a no-brainer. Go for the S600.

At least your possible purchaser (rdaniels) can take comfort from the fact that it has been cherished by a true enthusiast who cares about these cars as your many posts amply show.
Mind you I am re-financing my house and it is amazing the hoops I also have to jump through to make banks happy these days... even with an excellent credit history and good income... but at least I don't have to sell my S600 Benz!

As far as the banking goes, it is ridiculous what they require for loan processing. Even the broker I'm dealing with agrees. I told them that for me to do this only exchanges one total debt amount for two debt amounts equaling the same. It just breaks it up into two debts...one personal and one business. This happened to me back in 1997 when I had an S420 and was in the process of buying my house.
As far as the Ford F150, check one out , especially the Platinum version. They are as luxurious as can be and EXTREMELY quiet. Heated and cooled seats front and rear, Nav with weather radar and traffic info, huge slot for a laptop, Sync voice command, ambient lighting with 3 or 4 varying color choices, a tailgate with a pull out step and grab handle for ease of getting into the bed, sideboards that emerge from under the vehicle when the doors open for stepping in and out.
I know it is a polar extreme of what I have but I like the truck better than any other average car out there. Basically what Ford (the only American vehicle company that is going in the right direction) has done, has eliminated the Lincoln trucks and applied the upper level models to the Ford name.
Chris, I will hang around here anyway in the future because I will get another S class sometime later, no doubt.
Wow. Oh well life goes on. Was happy to see you posting but didn't expect that. Any way its fun to get a new vehicle no matter what you are going to or from. Although I'm sure its nice, do you need a pick-up? They do have the best residual of any vehicle so that good after the deprecation bath of the 600. In addition the the new S's will be just a short 2.5 years away...So..
Surprisingly I haven't really missed the S as much as I thought. After having the M3 for a while I recent sat in the '10 S at the LA auto show and it felt huge. I do like the smallness of the M3 and it is real fun to drive. I still watch the S65 values but I'm just enjoying this car for now.
I'm still hanging around here because once your an S owner you pretty much stay one even if you don't currently own. So I hope you stick around for some educated (mostly) auto discussions.

I'm also in the middle of starting up an additional business and that has some to do with the loan I'm getting. The hoops we have to take are ridiculous.
I'll poke my head in here from time to time.
