S550 "Raise Vehicle"

I have a S550 which I bought in September 2008 and I realized something is not right. Whenever I try to get the car into raised mode, I never see "Car rising" in the multifunction display. The light does not even blink as the car raises. It just turns red automatically. The button I am talking about is in the cluster of buttons in between the speedometer and the COMMAND system in the drivers line of view.

Is the car supposed to say "Car rising?" in the display? Should the light automatically turn on without blinking?

Thanks for the responses.

In my car when I push the to raise the car the red light stays on to indicate that the car is raised and initially it does display "Vehicle Raising" in the cluster. However the red light does not blink, I don't think it is suppose to. Check your user's manual, it will provide you will detailed information on the subject.

Thanks, but I looked in the owners manual and it said that "Vehicle Raising" should be displayed. Whenever I took it in for service, the technicians never commented on it or found anything wrong. I have not been getting that initial message for over a year! I find it strange the dealer doesn't fix it whenever I take it in...

Have you pushed the button and step outside the car to see if it actually raised? If it does not raise I would take it back to the dealership and have them show you that's its working if they claim that its normal. You should see a definite difference in the height of the car.

Easiest way to check this is get out a tape measure and measure one front and rear wheel well height off the ground (measure from the highest point). Hit the button and wait a minute and then remeasure, it should be roughly an inch higher....
