What kind of USB ram do you mean? I have a PCMCIA to USB adapter at home but I've never tested it in the car. In my opinion it does not make any sense at all because all you would get is a hassle with cables which does not look nice at any car, definitely not on a W221.

You can get an 8 GB or 16 GB memory card which stays nicely hidden in the slot. Comand anyway does not accept more songs than a 16 GB card can hold (about 8 GB, unless you listen to classical music where the file size per title may be a lot larger than average). Capacity-wise you would not gain anything from the USB approach.

Have you tried that on a laptop that has a PCMCIA interface? And I don't see how one would want to see the wiring mess from an iPod any better than a USB memory? Why do people want to make it complicated and ugly when you can simply store all your iPod music to a couple of memory cards.

On this subject, does anyone have a product with hyperlink that works well. Other posts are old. Sounds like newer cards work but the hard thing is finding the adaptor

Buy a Sandisk Compact Flash PCMCIA adapter and a Sandisk Compact Flash memory card if you want to avoid trouble. The confusion is mainly related to SD and SD HC cards and their adapters (although a good SD HC card and adapter should be relatively easy to find).

My configuration

Few days ago I purchased the following products:

DELOCK PCMCIA PC-Card CardReader 33 in 1

SanDisk ImageMate All-in-One Card Reader, USB 2.0

SanDisk Ultra II SDHC Card 32GB

I had no problem to write/read the data and to access MP3's from my car. 32GB will not be used accessed on my 221. It seems to be limited to 16 GB (half of my music Lib). Access time initially takes some 10 sec, later on no time delay at all. I use it in addition to my Ipod from where I have to access data from the steering weels... I hate it!
