I just pick up a CPO 2007 silver S550 4 matic, AMG pkg, Pkg 2, parktronic, rear power seats pkg. It has 28K miles. showroom condition. I paid $53K.
I got this car after an elderly man rear ended and almost total my 2005 S500 4 matic, it had only 38k miles on it. the damages is over $24k. Good thing I am OK, just can't turn my neck for over a week.

Congrats on the car bro and I would ask for pics but I think it's more important you go get your neck checked out

Sucks about your neck, that's really too bad. hope it gets better. Usually these pains get worse and more "tense" quite a bit after the accident occurs, so I'm sure/hopefully it's heal back to normal very soon.
BTW, how do you like the 221 compared to your 220?

The W221 seems to be better handling and smoother than the W220. It might be the AMG 19" wheels and the seven speed transmission. It is one sweet ride and look awsome. It almost made me forget about my pain in the neck.

This is good read.
I am looking for a CPO 2007 as well.
Looks like, I should get the following done prior to delivery:
command update
telematic update
ECU reset
perform all TSB
Anything else?

I'd ask them to throw in the NAV update disk which is not an auto upgrade. They may charge you $200. That get's you bird'sm eye view and real time traffic

Where can I find a list of available options that was available back in 2007?
I know there is P1 or P2 package and some other individual options not belong to P1 or P2.
iPod and blue tooth aren't standard, are they?

Ipod is not standard, but prewiring for BT was. You just need a BT puck to get it to work. Check Edmunds, they have all options including their MSRP/invoice pricing. P2 is a must have in my book....

That was a very informative write-up.
Interestingly enough, I was at the Lange Rover dealer in Northern Illinois, and there was a gentleman there who traded in his S550 for a 2010 Range Rover Sport. To say the least, I was perplexed. The next day I was there again looking at the Rover Sport and there was the same gentleman; however, this time with his family. I suppose the S550 was not very family friendly or good in the snow... Needless to say, I was tempted, but did not ask why he had traded in such a beautiful vehicle for the Range Rover Sport (not taking anything away from the RRS).
Reading up on the BMW/MB/Land Rovers/Jaguars it is common practice to find electrical and in some cases mechanical horror stories.
After experiencing a lemon MB, what motivated you to get back into another (albeit "better") one?

Hi Emilner,
I read your write-up before, and again after, my recent purchase of an '08 CPO S550V4, and I must say you are right on target.
This kind of feedback on newsgroups is a very valuable addition to the mix when considering a new vehicle, and I appreciate your time and effort.
You may have read my post on the evolution of my purchase from 2010/2011 E550 to 2008 S550, but if not here it is. Gallery pics here.
I am already planning a 1200 mile round trip to Mackinac Island and look forward to enjoying a good highway cruise.
Thanks again!

I'll +1 this.. Your post, in part, has swung me from the E63 to the S550.. well, that and my wife I stopped in the dealership yesterday and gave them the specs I'm looking for and the "about" pricing.. now the clock is ticking
