As of MY10 216/221 SPLITVIEW (code 867) implemented into the Telematics system that allows driver and front passenger to view two different sources on the same screen. All vehicles arrive with this feature deactivated from the factory activation occurs during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) using SDS in accordance with state legal requirements and currently prohibited on vehicles registered in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington.

That option has to be ordered on non V12 models, and all vehicles with that option come with it deactivated. It must be activated during the PDI process.

Implied per code; “option” will add different 8-inch screen and wiring harness. The driver has full access to COMAND system while the front passenger uses the included remote control and wireless headphones to enjoy their own entertainment choice.

 

Can this be retrofitted to an '09?

 

As of July 29, 2010, Arizona now allows SPLITVIEW (code 867).
