I like how the report says something about his Mercedes "SUV." Reporters are so stupid.

I like how he left his keys in his keyless go car.

They found a Bentley in the same ravine after pulling his out. Sounds like the same thief has a favorite dumping site.

Now if he didn't drive the car into the ravine under the influence which it now appears to be not what happened how many of you first thought that's exactly what happened and he made it home in time to report his ride stolen!!!!!

He did/does. It's standard (along with everything else) on the S600.

I'm sure he can afford it, maybe his girlfriend drove off in it.

The report makes no sense. The reporter said his SUV was stolen and that onstar called to tell him his car was in a crash. Sounds more like a GM SUV was stolen and crashed....

Am surprised anyone <80yo in BH drives a 600, rather than a 65

Have always tossed the KG button into glovebox upon deliv of a new MB and I suspect many do same in BH or SF as these are valet parking-intensive places (at office pkg garages, restaurants, etc) and it is a logistical nightmare to remember to give the damn key to valets upon exiting car

But most guys w/a 3-digit IQ don't leave MB unlocked w/key inside, even at home

Have always tipped valets, self-parked and kept key....but I have found that keeping KG button in-place is useless for me for two reasons: the start-up activation/sound is not as crisp via pushing KG button vs twist of the e-key....and in mtn twisties pleasure driving, the key would fall out of my pocket (and almost get lost in the seat structure)

Indeed, markopolo

Recall ~3yrs ago walking out of a BH restaurant w/a 60yo colleague (who drove '07 S65 back then; now drives '10 CL65) ridiculing me (a much younger guy) for then driving a new, '07 CL600 (which I enjoyed driving more than my then-new 997TT and 599, even in twisties)

Older dudes in BH are awfully sensitive about being seen in a 600...rather funny, as IMO 600 is dynamically superior to 99%+ of alleged sports/supercars out there

Car looks to be in decent shape, considering the fall.
