I'm back. New Mercedes

OK Sorry guys its not an S class but did just get 2010 GL550 for the wife.
I'm posting over here because this is where I hang out as previous S class owner.

Got it for $500 over invoice.
It also has Nappa leather option, illuminated door sills, trailer hitch, rear entertainment, and chrome accessory pkg. MSRP was $88,5
We love the truck. Color steel gray.
Once we agreed on price they came at me with 5.9% interest.
But they eventually dropped to 4.9%.
Interesting note at close they pushed the extended warranty for $3900. After I declined they offered it to me for $3000 and we settled at $2900 for the 7 yr 75k mi. I think it was fair. The interior is so nice with the upgrade. Interior quality feels very similar to 600 as it has leather dash and all. Just minus the alcantra headliner. Negotiation was handled over about 10 emails in a day. Less than an hour at the dealership for delivery.

It replaces the controversial Infinity Qx-56 that she enjoyed for 5 years.

I had the same expience with finance and warranty at my dealer(with GL). They quoted 5% and I said I'm paying cash. They came back with tail between legs and begged me to do it if they dropped it to 3%. I actually did the 3% even though I did not want or need to. In fact I paid it down over a year. I think it's got a huge margin for them. I guess it's no different than rust coating and tire insurance at the Buick dealer.

Don't know about MB but I believe most US car companies make their money on the financing rather than the vehicle itself. Hard to believe in today's market...

Why bother paying cash if you can borrow at 5% or so?
