Black button 4 inches left of Ign. Sw. what is it?
There is a 5/8" round cutout with a 3/16" black button in center . Anybody know what it is for?
2007 S550 without keyless start.

Have you tried, it could be for the driver?

Actually it is one of the temperature sensors for the HVAC system. I'm not sure if it is an IR sensor or an ordinary PTC sensor, these usually have a blower included but this one does not.
