Sirius pushed " upgrade" trashed radio programming
On Sunday, my Sirius radio begun playing the preview station only. My subscription hadn't expired and I resent the signal. I then called Sirius and after 40 minutes on hold, I was told my radio was defective and I should bring the car to Mercedes. I doubted it but had no choice. Mercedes kept the for day and then found a just issued service bulletin. Apparently, Sirius pushed out a "best of XM" promotion that tends to erase the programming for some radios. My dealer now has 4 S classes waiting to be reprogrammed. What idiots! Someone should be fired. I sure how Mercedes bills Sirius for this! (not that they have any money).
Anyway, if you have this problem ask your dealer to search for the service bulletin. It's a 15 minute job once you know about it.

Glad it worked for you. Maybe they have fixed their process now. It didn't work for me on Sunday. (you can send the signal from your online account as well).

Sirius redefines "incompetence".
On Sunday, 4 April, my Sirius shut down in my S550. Nine phone calls later (two were cut off mid-conversation) totaling between 5-7 hours, including: being on hold 59 minutes one time, 3 signals sent from my PC, 4 signals sent by Sirius, 4 "escalations" (?) by Sirius and an offer of $10 credit for the inconvenience and I still have no Sirius. Explanations vary from the bland "technical problems" to the ludicrous "the Mercedes satellite" (???) is down. Each call ends with: "We are escalating, please call in 2-3 hours. I guarantee you will have a Sirius." That was four phone calls ago.

It has happened to me. I can only access this horrible preview channel. I called them and after waiting for 30 minutes to speak to someone, I was eventually told that this affecting all BMW's and Mercedes but that t would be fixed in 24 hours. This was on Monday and today is Friday and it is still not working. There is nothing on their website, no update, no apologies from this bunch of retards.
Are you saying I have to go to the dealer!

on monday while listening to the sat radio the display showed updating the stations for a few minutes, but then it resumed playing regular stations. guess I got lucky. also I am on trial time, so I dont know if that had anything to do with that.

I just spoke to Sirius for an update again this Friday morning. (And amazingly only had to wait 10 minutes) The phone representative then had to speak to her manager who was aware of the problem and said they do not have a fix yet, but apparently expect to have it sorted in 3-days. (But on Monday said they would fix it in 24 hours) They said they would send out signals as soon as they have it sorted. If I can believe them our radios should be working again on Monday - I am not holding my breath.
I do not get any sense this has been escalated as a serious problem that needs addressing. Certainly complain!

I lost my Sirius on Sunday and after 5 phone calls I finally cancelled service yesterday. They actually had me turn the car off, open the passenger and driver doors, and then start the car while they sent a hard reset option. Anyone watching me in the parking lot much have been LTAO. They clearly had no clue what was wrong, and when they told me it was a hardward problem and not a Sirius issue I just cancelled. Not worth the hassle, especially since I cant get MLB games.

MY08-09 installed receivers have the capability to receive new programming but dealer needs to apply Telematics update.

I just got my Sirius service back after almost 2 weeks when after my fourth call they sent an activation system and it worked.

It happened to me as well. After talking with Sirius they re-sent the signal and everything is back to normal.

After cancelling my Sirius out of frustration from a handful of calls trying to get service back, I emailed the Sirius contact that someone priovided in this forum and received a prompt reply. I called the support person and within 2 minutes I was back in service. I have no idea why that didn't happend during my prior calls, but Sirius is back.

Still awaiting resolution of the problem, Sirius is now saying it's a Mercedes problem, not theirs. After this has gone on for almost a month with no sirius service, today they issued a ticket number and said someone from Mercedes would call me. I'm already past 10 calls and over 10 hours in attempting to fix this. Problem appears to be that when you have no service, you can't tune to channel 184 to get the signal fix that they push out?

This thread got me worried.
I didn't drive my 2010 S550 on Sunday (nice weather = M5 hits the road
), so I exprienced problems when taking it to an event on Monday evening. Anyway, it flipped back to the Sirius Preview channel.
This morning, I called Sirius twice, and I'm happy to say it is resolved. The first representative told me my trial subscription had expired, which made sense and didn't make sense. I got the car on 10/9/10. The trial subscription is 6 months, I think. So, that would take it to 4/10/11, but I still had service on 4/15 when I drove the car last. Anyway, I renewed for a year with a multiple radio discount of $116.70. That was the end of the first conversation.
...Then, I read this thread and became alarmed. So, I went back to the car, and sure enough, it gave the "Sirius Preview" channel only. So, I called the number on the Comand screen and was connected within 2 minutes. This time, the agent sent a signal and the channels showed back up. I hung up the phone, and the channels were back, sound and data. However, I lost my presets, which sort of sucked. So, I programmed them back in and, as far as I know now, I'm back up and running as normal.
