Idt so. Alot of people have to sometimes settle on the cars because they are buying it used and can't find the perfect color with the options they want.

 

Hmm. Was there an official press release for the US models? Judging by how many people actually get ABC here, not sure MB would want to make it standard and raise the base price accordingly.

 

I special ordered mine, so the color combination was definitely a conscious choice.

If I would order 2010 S550 I will go with designo Magno Cashmere White (matte finish) and red designo interior

Of the standard colors... Iridium silver in the California sunlight with black interior. (Uh, what I have) Black and black is like driving around in a coal mine. I do wish MB did a better 2-tone grey/black interior - the current all grey interior option is just too bland for my taste. Really love the 2-tone Designo interiors though.

While the black car would absorb slightly more heat than a white one when parked (per Mythbusters, 135F vs 126F which is not the difference you would notice), the difference while driving is non-existent. The laminated double-pane IR glass is as good as it gets for keeping the heat out. My S550 is parked outside in the sun all the time, and I am surprised as to how well the glass does its job (the cabin is barely warm after 8 hours). Despite being black/black, it feels much cooler than my silver/gray 750 and there's no comparison to my old black/black STS. It's not about the color, it's all about the technology and materials.

 

I finally broke my Silver mode (Brilliant & iridium) and have ordered Diamond White, Panorama Roof and Cashmere Beige, although the interior could still be switched to Black over the next few weeks for the 2011 model. Black is still a killer but I think I just need a change from 040 Black and 775 Silver. I did briefly consider Palladium Silver but it was somewhat too dull on cloudy days. Mercedes owners are still deprived of what other manufacturers are offering and I just don't know why, other than we keep buying what they sell, regardless.

I got black on black but I really really wanted white on black but it seemed so hard to find!! I cldve gotten whitenon beige but I wasn't to fond of it...I've always liked red on black but I think the c-series is then only one that comes w that color option.

Btw: ezec: my dream combo was white w black interior but you showed me a new one!!! That by far has to be one of the nicest color schemes I've ever seen on an s class

 

I think grey with Designo white leather is the best for the S-Class same as the one in the attached picture

They got whatever you like in wood or carbon.. They dont make it themselves, i cant remember the manufactures name but its awesome quality i had them make my mirrors in carbon fiber..

I think this is a question that would have a million answers...everyone's taste is different...BUT if it were me I would definitely get it white. I see white S550/63's all the time in LA and they just look absolutely STUNNING. I'm not a big fan of white cars but S550/63 has to be the sexiest car in white.
