how to find out if i have ABC suspension or not?

Hi everyone,

I am new here. I recently became an owner of 2007 s550 AMG, P2 package with a bunch of cool little extras. I never owned a Mercedes before so I have very limited knowledge.

I am trying to order some lowering links from http://www.adjustableairride.com/ and dont know which one of the two I should get, the one "with ABC" or "without ABC"

All i know is that my car is not 4-matic and it has a little button next to dashboard screen to raise the car. It also has c/s button next to the center control knob but as far as I know, it only changes my gearing and transmission behavior, nothing to do with suspension.

I will also post some pictures once I am done with my build. I promise

Please advise!

The C and S button in the pre-facelift S-Classes does in fact control transmission AND suspension.

I can't think of any signs of having ABC at the moment, but if your S doesn't have any body roll when turning or cornering, then you do in fact have it.

If I'm not mistaken, it should say "Active Body Control Vehicle Rising" when you try raising the car. (Not 100% on this). Congrats on the S550!

I am not sure how body roll feels like so i cant comment on that, however when i press that "raise" button, it just says "Vehicle Rising"

Try contacting a dealership and give them your VIN and ask them to see what options you have on the car. The Adjustable Ride lowering links are the way to go.

I believe if you look in the fender well you should see the height sensor, if you have four (one on each corner than you have ABC) but if you only see the fronts and not rear than NO(rear has 1 under the car for non-abc).

Go to this site: http://old.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng and enter your VIN. It'll tell you everything from color to options.

Look for "489" under codes. That should be Airmatic. If you have that code listed, your S has Airmatic. If you can't find it, you have ABC.
