My "new" 2007 S550 (three weeks) expells air with a whoosh after locking the vehicle and/or closing the trunk lid. It appears the air is escaping from under the hood. This occurs a couple of times within a period of a minute or so. Is this a normal occurrence or is the suspension leaking? Does it need a dose of beano?

 

I get the swooshing sound all the time. I think it's just standard. I don't have any fears of it, I don't think that you should either. If you'll notice, it happens consistently at the turn off stage.

 

I am getting the same whoosh on my 2003 S500 when I lock or unlock the doors.
I guess it's normal for a spaceship.

 

It has to do with the airmatic suspension and is normal...

The beast does it all the time during the ride also. It's kinda cool and according to the forum friends, some of us have it including GL guys.

 

Good thing no comedian are reading this, otherwise we will have endless jokes about your cars passing gas.......... when locking the car or middle of a drive, etc.
