gas mileage
Hey guys. My mother is looking for an S550 but there is a great deal on a S600 and I am just wondering for people that own one is the gas mileage around 11/17 or worse? If true, it seems like a no brainier considering that a S550 only gets 14/21.
Also, what are the concerns should someone worry about purchasing a S600 over a S550?
I would greatly appreciate everyone's feedback.

Well, for most S550 or S600 buyers, the MPG is the least of their concerns. The S550 is rated at 14/21, she will probably average 15 MPG, the S600 is rated at 11/17 and 13 MPG is very likely.

That's why this forum is so much fun! Lots of info+
I'm getting around 7-11 mpg in heavy/moderate Manhattan traffic, 19-20+ mpg on I-78.
My average right now reads 17.8 mpg (after last 8,000 miles reset).
I think it's not bad for V12TT and my frequent toying with other cars on the freeway.

I have managed to wind my w21 S600 up to 21.9 mpg on the freeway and have got down as low as a miserable 9 mpg crawling endlessly uphill in traffic on CA 24. Generally I am averaging around 15 to 16 mpg mixed city and freeway. Actually not too bad I think for a 5.5 liter V12 though I am not a particularly heavy footed driver.
