steering to the right and tires are dying fast
It's 100 degrees in New Orleans and my car is pulling right. My front passenger tire is shredding on the inside, and my back driver is chording on the inside.
Is it possible that this is an alignment issue or just the case of a 4000 pound car and the 100 degree death of my tires?

Alignment issue.
Take it to a dealer, spend the extra money, and if you need new bolts, have them install 'em. Keep in mind, they are proud of those bolts and they will charge you labor.
Then, you'll have to replace the bad tires... otherwise the alignment will have been for naught.

And of course, I just found out this morning that my fronts are pretty much toast from the same issues. A lot of positive camber. So now, I'm waiting at the tire shop to have them install 2 new tires. $520 bucks later...
Alignment was done a few days ago, so I should be good there.

After doing research over the past few days, I have come to understand that the w221 when being driven daily will demolish tires at an alarming rate. This needs to be factored into the cost of ownership. The Z rated tires that are required for style and performance, are not going to last for the expectancy of the tire. Hotter climates should also being mentioned into the life of the tire. I have read in threads that some tires are lasting 10k-15k miles in the summer time and at $350/tire; that's just not worth it.
