S550 Service/Oil Changes?
Hi All,
I purchased an 07 S550 with 23K in late May, it dawned on me as I looked at how many miles I racked up (currently 31K on the odometer) that I have yet to have an oil change or servicing. I can vaguely remember the service guy telling me that the car will let me know when it need the oil change and or service. Is this true? Also is it good to wait until the car tells you or is there some unwritten rule as to when to get an oil change/service?
I am a really calm driver and log about 90% of my miles on highway at around 65 to 70mph.
I had a BMW that used to go 14 to 17k before an oil change.
Be interested in understanding what most of you are doing.

Yes car will remind you for service, I changed it even less the recommended every 3K miles even 2.5k miles sometimes; all syntheic mobile 1 I like my motor clean. The oldest fluid in my car is brake fluid which was changed 7 months ago.

I know this is an old thread but i figured i would ask here instead wasting bandwidth with a new thread. My question is, if i wanted to perform the oil changes and maintenance myself and not take it to the dealer is there a place online where i can buy the special tools required to lets say change the oil and brake pads? I don't mind getting down and dirty to save a few bucks. Thanks in advance.
