Keyless Go Key

I have but one. Comfort level is two.

I see two from my model year on eBay. Dealer wants $275 for keyless go key and programing etc. etc.

Can these keys be reprogramed, if sent to dealer or M-B depot?

Quick yes/no appreciated, as only one day left of eBay keys.

Thanks.

I just went through this with our GL 450. If you google keys there are plenty out there. The prob is that after you spend $175 you need to pay dealer to program. You could call to get an estimate but you know it's gonna be $50-100 ish so in the end you are better off sucking it up wit the dealer. If they claim"issue" with ebay key you are F*c%'ed. We paid $250. Would be same for our S550.

I called two MB dlrshps. today and talked with an SA and manager. One actually asked if he could talk to his top tech and call me back. Which he did!

Both said no. Not reprogramable. Either that's the MB creed and they all stand by it or it's the truth. Ebay keys and others from junked or other titled S550's cannot be rejiggered to work on others. Save your money.

Anyone have an experience where they were redone?
