Transmission fluid change
Wow. What state are you in? Might be worth my drive. The local MB dealer quoted me $750 to change the fluid in the transmission and transaxle. I went to a specialty transmission service and they wouldn't touch. Something about special hook ups etc. As fluid goes out, new must go in simultaneously or similar. I am really struggling with the $750 charge for what I think would be a routine maintenance action. Opiions and thoughts appreciated. 2007 550 4matic

Good idea to change this fluid, my Dealer quoted us $450 for this service (Southern California), $300 is a very good price, assume it includes fluid, filter, gasket, etc.

I did mine at 50k and paid 325 or 375 (don't remember exactly) in so cal.
now i got a problem with the gear getting stuck at 3rd gear. dealer found the problem in the gear and they need to open it so i guess i am getting another gear service for free ;-) because that issue is under my CPO warranty.

They way they change it is buy using a machine that takes out the old oil and puts in the new one simultaneously. They have to do this because if you drain out all the oil from your transmission, the new oil does not get to all the parts that new to be lubed.
$300 is a good price considering its pretty labor intensive.
$750 is way too much.
Try going somewhere else to get prices.

Sorry people to jack this tread, I am filling your pain, but for my five speed transmission I spend <70$ and 3 hours of for DIY. 24 bottles of fluid (Shell ATF 134) from MB 236.14 approval sheet (33$) and filter/gasket combo for 36$. I need 15 bottles, but Shell's distributor sell only boxes w/12 bottles, so I will have lots of fluid, to be exact actually to do two extra flushes (5 instead of recommended 3). Dealer charges 250 -300$ for fluid change including filter/gasket and 5 liters of fluid, and 600-700$ for full flush (filter/gasket and 14 liters of fluid).
