Question about door locks and auto close/open

Hi Guys,

I'm still getting to know the MY07 S550 after trading up from an S500 just recently. The car has been in the shop with quite a bit of warranty work so I have not had too much time to spend with it. Anyway, I have a couple of questions and hoping that you could help me out.

First is the locking system. I have keyless-go and in my old S I could lock the car by putting my hand on the door handle and holding it there. It would also shut all the windows and sunroof if I kept my hand there long enough. It would also lock and secure windows/sunroof if I double pressed the lock button on the key fob. Alternatively, If I pressed and held the unlock button, it would not only unlock but would wind the windows down and open the sunroof. Has this been changed or should I suspect a problem with the operation?

If the lock feature should work from the door handle, is it supposed to work from all 4 handles and is there anything I should be doing besides the obvious to make this work?

Secondly, I've just had the parktronic fixed. But it seems odd that every time I turn the wheel, I end up getting a message on the command monitor that says something to the effect that the steering wheel has been turned too far. I'm assuming that this is not normal operation? Who ever heard of a parking system where you can’t turn the steering wheel...

Any help is appreciated.

Lock feature works from all 4 door handles. Just keep your finger on the sensor area on the handle (slight depression near the rear of the handle), and it should lock up.
Alternately you can use the key by pointing the infrared sensor at the rear of the driver's door handle. You need to be within 2 feet of the car tho, with key in hand and pointed at the door handle.

No idea about the parktronic as I haven't spent any time playing with the system.

Locks etc.

I have 2007 Designo w/camera etc. I will only speak to the "pop up" on the camera screen re: steering wheel has been moved and similar.

It's the dumbest thing. Sadly, it doesn't do it all the time, so I could document a pattern. Lens is debris/dirt free. Parktronic sensors and inside indicators work perfectly.

Maybe we aren't alone in this! Any ideas out there?

For the parking system: If you have a blue rectangle on the screen when you put the car on R then before you move the steering wheel use the command scroll to scroll down and change the parking position from side wall the vertical parking.

rear view camera and the pop up.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Please give more specifics about the last sentence of your reply. I trust you know what you're doing, but I am not too aware of the side wall/vertical statement. Would you be kind enough to expand or simplify? Thank you.
