Question w221 side mirror swap

So i found a set of w221 mirrors online which i bought, but once i received them today, it appears that theyre not for my 07 s550. These are the ones i got.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Mercedes-LED-Mirr...ht_8706wt_1090

The general shape looks off and Im pretty sure they arent for my car, can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

Sorry to hear this, but thats the risk if you do not buy oem and you are looking for oem.

If the mirrors don't fit your car contrary to the seller's description, you should be able to return them for a full refund. If the seller refuses the refund, you should open a case with eBay ASAP.

You're supposed to take off the old cover. And replace it with the new one. Pop open the mirror glass and you'll see screws holding them in place.

ok so upon closer inspection the outside of the mirror is more square like the 2010 shape, but inside the glass portion is sort of oval like the stock mirrors. So i think they may actually fit but i dont know how to put them on.

so i can see tiny screws behind the mirror glass but its very hard to get a screwdriver to fit back there. Is there anyway to just pop off the mirror glass?

UPDATE: so i managed to pry off the mirror, i removed the 4 screws that hold the housing together. Now i got the front of the housing off, but the rear is not really budging. Do I need to remove the motor as well?

You can pop off the glass.Once the glass is off,you can unscrew the screws. There is no way you would be able to take the mirror apart w/out taking off the glass.

yeah i know that. I got the mirror glass off. THen i got the 4 screw out and the front piece of the housing off. Now the only thing left is the rear piece that has the led strip. I cant get that off and im wondering if i need to remove the motor in order to get the backing off?

If you're not 100% sure how to remove the mirror cover,I suggest you have a shop do it.Because you will still need to tap in the new led strip to the power source.

Hmmm i see. I thought it was plug and play since the new mirror housing has 2 harness connections wired up, 1 for the led and 1 for the puddle light.

How do you pop off the glass without breaking it, do you tilt it up or down?

plus on the page where the item description is it clearly states "Returns:
14 day money back or item exchange, buyer pays return shipping | Read details"
so you should be good contact the seller asap and send them back you should only pay for the shipping in return and maybe the restocking fee

opps came in late on this ... looks good BTW

Looks good, but it would be better and pretty much same price if you buy aftermarket 2010+ ones. They are like 700$, and after you sell your old ones it will cost you 0$ for upgrade.

TITANLE,

Looks great! Any chance you can upload a photo from the "mirror" side too? Any problems with them so far?

hey titanle, sorry to bring up an ancient thread but I recently bought mirrors like yours and wanted to know how you installed it. Someone sideswiped one of my mirrors and I'm trying to get it replaced.

I'm trying to figure out exactly how these are installed and also if wire tapping needs to be done for the signals to work or if it's simply plug n play. Any installation tips you could provide?

Thanks in advance for your help!
