Comand has shut down.
Over the past few days my Comand has been playing up. No Sat Nav,Audio, Tele etc. The dealer picked it up yesterday, he phoned me to say the hard drive had failed and i needed a whole new Comand System £ 5,000 + taxes and fitting. Fortunately the car is still under warranty, only just though, runs out in January.
Has any one else had problems with there Comand hard drive ?

My dash and telematics system all went black one day...I believe the dealer replaced the "main CAN unit", didn't mention the hard drive, but could have been part of it....they replaced under warranty.
In your case, seems funny that they cannot just replace the hard drive? Replacing whole COMAND for a disk failure seems a pretty bad ORU replacement strategy...

i had mine replaced. Sometimes it wouldnt turn on at all or it would take like 15minutues to turn on. Dealer could never replicate problem so they would constantly "upadate it". So I said fine, I'll bug u guys till you replace it, after having MBZ come and pick up the car twice they finally changed it out so I wouldnt waste anymore of their time =)
