Minor Incident or is it?

I have a question for the experienced and well versed S550 owners. Would you buy a pre-owned S550 that has all the options you want and more but the Auto Check report shows that the vehicle had an accident on the front.

The seller is a mercedes benz authorized dealer but does that make it safe? I am curious to know, what would you do? Would you make that purchase or walk away? Does the car being certified mean anything or that's just BS?

Too many cars for sale to take one that has been crashed. There is no guarantee the car you buy has never been hit, but if it was I would walk....

If the car is certified pre owned then I don't think that is has any accident.

I believe this is by car fax report only. I bought a 2004 that had had a side impact, and I could tell. Was cpo, sold to me for a song. Was ok, not perfect. But, I won't do it again. Like it has been said, too many non crashed cars you'd pass up. Wait for the perfect car for your hard earned dough.

I would walk away. You have no idea the extent of the damage and front end damage can haunt you forever.

I am going to walk away from the car. I didn't think the S Class was the kind of car you would buy with a prior incident and expect it to run a 100%. The dealer also claimed he never heard of AutoCheck.com and it was probably a Carfax wannabe website.

According to MB CPO rules any car with accident history is excluded from CPO certification, unless it is a minor scratch. As others said, there are many S550' around, keep looking, but if you really love this car, have it checked by a body shop, they can tell you the damage extent and if it was repaired properly.
