Do you mean the new W222 model, launched in Europe late 2012 or the current W221 US 2012 model? I guess you mean the first one, the latter one should not have any significant changes to the current facelift W221.

 

Given the typical life cycle for the S-Class (6-7 years) we aren't quite due yet.

Edmunds and others speculate that then next S will be MY14 arriving fall/winter or 2013.

To fill the gap we are going to get the next V8TT, clean diesels ect.

 

The next S will indeed be out in MY 2014 (late 2013 real-time) in the U.S.

You've got about another just-under 3 years of W221 running production.

 

yeah, that 2014 thing seems right......they're coming out with all those new models by then.......there was that article about it....oh.....it's there somewhere......

 

Yeah, 2014 will have the new S-Class, and face-lifted E-Class, etc.

 

For 2012 - same car (for the most part), new engine. And the new engine is very good.

As long as I remember (going back to 450SEL),any new S-Class spy pics were met with universal disdain and hate.
Then the new car showed up and everyone loved it......

Hopefully those hideous, squiggly, non purposeful lines don't make it on the final cut. I doubt it. M-B's lines are getting messy, but DAMN, that's a whole new level of messy.

 

Guys, of course all images of the 2012 are renderings! There are NO official shots of the model yet... Or as the kids say on the playground-- "Duhhh.."

I agree. no offense, but I felt that way when that new E-class hit the show room I cant stand it. I hope they dont screw the S class up. The new E sedan/cpe & SL are not sexy in my opinion and I think the new CLS will be a bust, but these are my opinions.

 

I should have said other then spy photos, which dont show a whole lot... I was only referring to images of the final design...

 

+1 I like some aspects of the new E design but the old style was so much better! Especially the tail....

Eeek... but in fairness Hyundai's attempt at a premium design tries to copy the Mercedes styling cues... but badly. Good reason not to debadge or get rid of the hood star for a flat hood ornament.

 

i hope you guys know that picture of the yellow S class is official and real. i just received a brochure in the mail from fletcher jones mb and theres a picture of that exact photo of the 2013 s class..

i prefer the 2010 s class!

regardless, seems like each could possibly end up with similar designs....
if this in fact does bare any truth......lol...

but if the new S class does have those body lines like the picture in post 13.....then yikes...........
