Just stick a big piece of duct tape over the mileage indicator. Or, you can use "write on" tape, and write a lower number just in case they look.

The very sad thing about this post, is that I wrote it as a regular person who was upset because a stranger read my vehicle statistics from outside my car thru the "Keyless Go" feature.

I still think that is personal information and something that should not be recognized so easily from standing outside of the cars.

I have watched as others who don't share my same opinion not take an educated stance of maybe not interested or making no comment at all. Blogs and Forums are supposed to be places where like minded people go to share their opinions and thoughts on things. This forum is also supposed to be filled with the highest and classiest group of people because we drive head and shoulders above the rest.

We most certainly have a long way to go as a people, and it's not looking so good.

Like we said...you could pull the same information and more than you could possibly imagine with the VIN and your license plate number. We've tracked down criminals (scammers) on this forum right down to their home address - heck we even managed to pull one scammer's SSN off his IP address, license plate, and some other information we gathered from his posts.

And like we said, a little over ten years ago odometers were mechanical and static when the vehicle wasn't running. It was visible 24/7. What did you do back then?

You want class? You got it!

Dear Mr. Bomber,

With all due respect, your post #3 is in direct contradiction to the lack of class and respect you so long for now. In that post, you implied you would make CNN news if you caught someone writing down your VIN. In post #8, you called a member sexually frustrated. I think your posts made your complaint as well as you hard to take as serious or classy.

The mileage showing with the pull of the handle is not common among German makes.

I’m sure he meant it in a figurative way, and I’m equally sure everyone knows that. I don’t share his concerns that this is a problem, but I do share his enthusiasm to find out what you’re up to if you’re that close to my car.

Thanks for the lesson in Class and I appreciate your understandings at my frustration. I was classless and immature I don't deserve to drive Mercedes.

I'm annoyed with people being able to see my license plate. MB should do something about that

Reading some of these posts is better than the reality TV shows my girlfriend watches!
And BTW my car has 42,171 miles. Uh-oh, I better file an Identity Theft claim now that people know my cars mileage.
