2007 S600 Problems / Experience

Hi All,

I have 2007 S600 with only about 10,000 miles and am debating whether to get an extended warranty considering I don't drive it very frequently. I haven't had any issues yet but wanted to seek advice from this forum.

Those of you who own 2007 S600s, kindly do share your experience so far with this car.

1. Any major issues you encountered / experienced.

2. Any advice to prevent potential problems.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi, since your car is 2007, you may go through service bulletins and see if you can expect something in the future, then force your dealer to fix any potential issues even not present yet. Anyway, regardless how much you drive your car, I'd get the extended warranty.

Hi - Thanks for your response. I got an estimate of about $7000 for MB extended warranty; not sure if I should be spending that money if I am not going to extensively drive my car.

Anyway, still debating

Thanks again!!

Ouch - that is too much! For 10,000 miles car it is a huge price.
I paid 600EUR when mine was 10,000 kms for 2 years warranty!

$7000 I would consider only if I would plan to keep the car for a long time and drive at least 15,000+ miles per year.
I'm not sure what can go wrong, but I believe major / expensive breakdowns should be sorted out by MB anyway with this mileage! You would pay only labour.

Even if it were 1200 EUR, I would have paid that amount. But, $7000 is a little too much in my humble opinion (considering that I will not be driving it that much).

Anyway, I truly appreciate your response. Thanks again!!

I got the extended warranty on my 2007 S600 and have used it a couple times now.
1. Drivers seat had faulty bladder.
2. Drivers seat drive dynamic broke.
3. Rattle from rear deck lid when stereo bass is turned up a little.
4. Drivers seat memory broke after dealer fixed drive dynamic...guessing dealer caused this fault.
5. Intercooler bearing? Had a rattle at idle.

I would definately purchase the extended warranty...but for $7,000 with only 10,000 miles, that's a tough call. I paid $5,500 for mine. Not sure why they'd be trying to charge you $1,500 more...I bought my extension 6-months ago, maybe rates have gone up since then???

Hi - Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Much appreciated. Yes, I was surprised too when I heard about $7000. If you don't mind, may I please know how many miles do you have on your S600.

So far, my car has been trouble free (touch wood). Let's hope it stays like that

Thanks again!!!

49,500. For almost 50,000 miles and 4 years old it's not bad at all...especially when you consider how much technology is packed into that car. Personally it's the best car I've ever owned...looking forward to the W222.

Have you noticed that the sunroof seems to close really slowly? The dealer told me it's normal but I remember it being much faster before.

$7000 is too much, try to contact different dealers. I did my search about 6 months ago and the best deal was with Fletcher Jones Newport Beach
