OEM vs Aftermarket windshield

So I got a crack on my windshield and needs to be replaced. They did a quick quote in their system and said fair cost & labor is about $1080 I don't believe what he's seeing is OEM windshield. I remember the OEM ones are like $1800 from the stealer.

He mentioned that claims under $1k under comprehensive doesn't go against your record but anything more may in some places. Since the deductible is $100 for glass, their payout is under $1k.

Anyways, if I choose to go aftermarket, do they meet dealer specs?

Yes...just make sure it's the same brand glass you have on your s500 now.

Heard that rain sensor may not work on some aftermarket windshield glass, could just be the wrong installation procedure. Just to make sure to check out.

I replaced the windscreen on my E when a rock hit it with aftermarket. The rain sensor in the aftermarket never performed as well as the OEM. Noticeable change for the worse.

Go with the OEM.

It's only OEM if it has the Mercedes sticker on the bottom right, correct?

You will need to buy the sticker. It's the same glass you want. P/N should be the same.

This one got a new windshield as part of the CPO, so it must be oem.
