Key to start ignition with keyless go

Have 07 S550 with 2 keys

Primary key is functional and starts ignition with keyless go

2nd set of keys does everything the primary does except start ignition with keyless go. It says key not recognized on dash? Simple programming fix at dealer? Thanks.

Swap the batteries first just to make sure that isn't the issue. If that is not the case then I would say the dealer would need to reprogram it.

Reply to dlr. programming post.

My U.S. dlr. said all programing is done in New Jersey/US. I bought a 2nd key just so I have one. I ordered and it was US $200 and was not a "keyless" one. That would have been another $100. Dlr. did say this 2nd/new one could ultimately be programmed, but would need to be sent away.

Sure. Two weeks, no key, if I lost the keyless one. My logic was if I lost the keyless one, I could get by w/ the regular one for a short time while waiting for a new keyless.

I'd ck. w/ the dealer about them providing one directly to you. I'd love to know if your dealer does it. Thanks.
