Brake Wear Sensors
Any body have part numbers for the front and rear sensors. They are Different and there is only sensors on the Passenger side. I replaced the pads and rotors but the Wear warning light still comes on everytime I start the car. Does this have to be reset or is it bad sensors?
Thanks

If the sensor was worn down before you changed the pads it will need to be changed.

I replaced the sensors and the fault cleared. Looking at the old sensor it apears that on the front sensor a small jumper wire is destroyed when the wear sensor rubs on the rotor..The rear sensor seems to send a ground signal when it rubs on the rotor.. Odd that they wouldnt be the same front and rear as they were on my previous MB's

'03 ML 500..... brake light coming on
I'm dealing with the same problem.
Brake wear light came on. Sure enough, needed front brakes. Replaced pads and sensors. Since then brake light (yellow wear light) comes on when car started and at times during operation. Usuallly on acceleration. I replaced both sensors again, no help. I know you aren't driving a ML but came across your thread in advanced search re my issue. Maybe somebody out there had like problem and repaired.

Hi.. My S550 uses different sensors on the rear and front. Only the right side has sensors. The front sensor on mine was a simple insulated wire that made contact with the rotor when the pads wore down. The one on the rear is different. It has a small wire jumper that grinds off when the pads are shot. That one has to be new one.. Maybe your new sensor is defective.. I would suspect the rear one..

Thanks..... I'll check the rear. I'm sure (I think) the rears are ok. But I'll take a look. I replaced the front sensors when brakes were installed and again after this problem developed.

I just did all rotors and pads along with the sensors. I'm still getting the brake wear indication on my dash. Went back and visually inspected everything and still got the same problem. Anyone ever encounter this and know the solution? Is there a special way to remove this indication?
