Entry/Exit Driver Seat/Steering Column Option

2007 AWD. On COMMAND top, far right is "Vehicle". It allows lighting settings, auto door lock after departing etc. It also allows "Easy Entry Exit".

This allows driver seat to move back for easier exit and it stays for easier entry. Upon entry, closing door and pushing keyless, the seat moves forward/steering comes down. I have the system set to "on" in "Vehicle".

Mine worked perfectly until now. Upon shutting vehicle off and opening door, column goes up, seat pushes back. Upon return and opening door, getting seated, closing the door and pushing keyless, the column goes down, but the seat will not move forward. It stays in the "pushed back" position.

I have reversed the seat to the fartherest point back and moved fully forward to pass any thresholds and reset memories. I have tried all three seat memories. Nothing works. The seat retracts as it should, the column works as it should, exiting and starting, but the seat still will not come forward automatically. The seat can be brought forward by manually pushing the seat bottom tab on the door panel, which allows me to still drive.

Lotsa words to explain, but anyone else ever have this? If so, what's wrong and is it easily fixable or must I see the dealer?

Any and all help appreciated.

Mine does not move at all. The steering goes up and down as expected, but seat never moves for easy exit/entry
Been like that since I got the car

Yes, besides a leak in the line that makes the right side deflate everything is working just fine.

I presume the seat moves and can be adjusted when manipulated manually using the controls on the door. If the seat cannot be manually manipulated via the door controls, check the fuses. One might be blown. These fuse numbers are tied into the front seat adjustment function......70, 80 (located in right side of dash board fuse box), 92, 102 and 112 (located in left side of dashboard fuse box).

If it can be manually moved, I presume you have the entry/exit option turned on in COMMAND. If not, do that. There is a "threshold" that the seat must pass before the memory will take. It also won't work if you have the seat "back" past that threshold.

With the option on, while in the seat, using the door mounted control, move it as far forward as it will go. Then, move it back and stop so your knees are no more than three inches or so from touching the bolster below the dash. At that point press "M" and whatever driver number memory button you use.

This might be what you need. If the steering moves, I would guess the option in COMMAND is on.

For grins, I'd like to know if this works. Thanks.

Well...thats youre problem...
I have problem with the head rest part, when i try to move it it does not work because electric motor has burned out.So when my service shop resets the memory via pc everything works until the head rest is tryed to be moved, than seat cpu memory the error and easy entry no longer works.Acctualy sterring works fine but seat goes back but never comes back until i move it.You have to fix right side cushin!
