Midcity Engineering Escort 9500 distronic interface???

My windshield mounted 9500 just went bad and I'm considering getting the distronic interface unit from midcity engineering. I'm extremely happy with the windshield mounted 9500, but I'm wondering if I can expect the same performance from the distronic interface version? Im also interested in the alert volume? I tend to play music at relatively loud levels almost all the time. The kband interference on the windshield mount is intolerable and my already installed k40 is worthless.......and when it does actually decide to go off I can rarely hear it.

Anyone have any personal experience with it? And yes, I've been to the site and watched all the vids.....just looking for someone who actually uses it on a day to day basis.

Thanks gents!

I have a 9500 windshield mount and mine is breaking too. It kind of makes me not want to buy another one of their products. I already sent it back for the same issue (gps doesn't initiate) and they just keep giving me the run-a-round even though it's under warranty now. For the price of these toys they should last longer than a few months. At work I have seen a few other customers with these device and they also have GPS issues. Also whenever I honk my horn I get a laser alert . Back on to what you are asking.. I have no first hand experience with the ci kit, but the differences are that you can add laser shifters to the vehicle which is nice and it integrates into the command (midcity kit) the disadvantages of low mount is a loss of range to regular radar alerts, but they will catch laser alerts better since cops aim at the headlights or plates. As far as K-Band alerts the GPS should filter them out as it learns them and you subscribe and update the unit. The only issue would be if you drive a lot of random places which I have and it does get annoying especially if the GPS is not working. Alternatively you can disable K-Band I rarely get a legit K-Band alert. Usually the only alerts that are legit in my experience is a KA or Laser (non-horn honking event)
