Cost to install AUX jack/cable?
Have an S550 that's pretty much fully loaded, but it doesn't have the AUX cable installed. I see the panel in the glove box where it would be installed, but clearly mine doesn't. I want to install it so I can connect any smartphone to the sound system via AUX, not just an iPod kit etc.
Any idea how much it should cost to install this - part + labor? I'm definitely not a DIYer!!
Also, any good recs for dealers who can do this in the ny/nj area? Most of the dealers I called seemed fairly clueless about this, surprisingly...

The ordinary AUX audio retrofit cable/connector was 21 Euros when I bought it. If you install it yourself, it would be easy to estimate the total cost.
The AUX video cable price was the same.

Yours may be different but my Bluetec (2011) features a port in the glovebox which accepts either a combination 3.5mm jack/iPod adapter *or* a USB port. Are you sure that yours doesn't have that capability?

Thanks for the responses guys.
There is a small rectangular panel in my glovebox where the AUX jack should (or would?) be, but since mine is an older model (07), I think it never got installed.
One of the MB dealers I called said the part costs $70 (what part??), but couldnt give me an estimate on how much to install.

Sounds like your model has a setup similar to mine.If that's the case the purchase of a relatively cheap cable from the dealer is all you need.

This is most likely a slot for a memory card, similar to a Compact Flash memory chip. I don't think it has anything to do with an AUX input.
