S550 idle problem
So I have had my s550 for 7 months and I have been having a idle problem with this car since,I have took it to the dealer around 5 time and they can't seem to fix the problem because it doesn't show on on there computer as the car has any problem,so now to explain the problem,my car seems to idle high on random times and sometimes when it does such thing car feel like it gonna turn off but it doesn't shut off(so far it did shut down on me 2 times since the 7 months I have had it but the car will turn back on with np)also I think this idle problem is messing with my tranny because sometimes I feel a crazy kick like if someone hit me from the back but that happens when I am going slow and it seems like the idle kicks in and makes the car do the little kick.if someone have had this problem please let me know because this problem has been getting to me.

Nope I have had this ongoing problem for the past 6 months and the dealer can't seem to know what's the problem,also after reading up it seems like its a rough idle that I am feeling now it still has a rough idle and the rpm drops a little low when on park.

I had a "rough" idle problem where, from time to time, it would sort of grumble and shake the whole car. Not catastrophic, but noticeable and definitely wrong. My dealer diagnosed a bad ignition coil and replaced it under warranty. Mine was definitely easy to pick up as engine-related from the driver's seat.
Sorry if that doesn't help.
Don't know your mileage or 4Matic config (i.e. RWD or AWD), but if you think it is transmission related, don't rule out the differential / transfer case also.

You are simply retarded, and know nothing of cars.
Do you really think low compression would not cause a rough idle/missfire issue? Seen this personally on this 273. Also, a improperly installed airbox causes mixture selfadaptation issues, which also causes a poor idle.
Apparently you have no advise do offer, only criticism to those trying to help. Good job!

I have the same issue although my car hasnt shut down on me and idle problem isnt that noticable. Although that "kick" that you are talking about, i had it couple of times randomly when i was sitting in traffic. To me it felt like someone rear-ended me. Plus during that kicks door locks unlocked and then relocked.

Some likely causes are, an ignition coil, bad airbox to MAF seal leaving the MAF hunting to correct fuel trim, a vacuum leak or a throttle body actuator acting up. Some actuators chatter & require replacement. TB actuator trouble never shows up on a Star.
Causes of locking/unlocking problem not plain.
US dealers are a bunch of parts changers. They could not diagnose a headache & are lost without a Star. Try & find a dealer that actually has a Service Manager that is technically competent on Benz cars & a true tech go-to person. Preferably someone appointed by Benz with a good Benz history as one finds in ROW.

Hi guy sorry for the super late response,but anyway as far as this problem I am still having it,Arlen777 yes I get that exact same kick when i am. In traffic feels like someone just hit me from the back but my doors never locked and unlocked,as far as what the dealer did they did everything from cleaning the injectors to the engine,they really only rely o n these computers to tell them the problem Witt the car but the computer can't read any problem with the car but yet there able to feel the turbulence that my car gets,they try to tell me that it's normal lol.at this point it's back in the dealer for the 6 time for same problem.car hasn't shut of on me recently but it does still shake on idle.

itsurdaddy where are you from? (location) if you did brought your car to an authorize dealer of mercedes benz they should be able to fix it, if you do not feel your dealer is dependable there are hundreds of dealership on each State and all over the US, not only through the star computer but through technical service bulletin on your issue, unless you took your car to a non MB dealership that's a total different story.
When you say turbulence what did you mean? three part to check, fuel system, electronic/electrical system, mechanical side. Sorry Can't get you an intelligent suggestion with all your artistic term not easily understood by an auto tech, wish you can lay it down without the art and just the facts.
