Good W221 for Resale Value

I am thinking of upgrading in a few years to a newer flagship. For now I'd like a W221 model (used, certified pre-owned) to drive.

Purely for resale value in 2 years...what cars/mileage should I be looking at?

I honestly don't think there is such a thing. For the first couple of years you are looking at about $700-$1000 depreciation each month. I think the depreciation curve starts to level out after about 4 years but then you pay in higher maintenance costs. It is an indulgence and not a financial investment whatever way you look at it. Buy the best you can afford and enjoy it. If I were you I'd try to find a 2010 as that's when the W221 received a facelift and some updates. You can probably get a 2007 or even 2008 for mid to early 40-something so purely based on price that might be the way to go but like I said budget money aside for maintenance.

I would look for the newest one with the highest mileage one that has records, preferably with wear items replaced already. But when you do this, make sure it is priced accordingly to the mileage and not what has been done.

I would wait until the new generation comes out because then the values will start to fall quick or at least until the next years start coming out (transition from 2012-2013 for example)

2013 E350 Wagon, prev 2005 ML 500 SE
S

Hi, did you find a S yet?

FYI, my dealer has a brand new 2011 S 550 for sale.
$97,500 MSRP for almost $22,000 off. $75,900.

Iridium silver with ash leather.
I'd be all over it if I didn't need the interior space of the E Wagon.

PM me if interested.
Bob
