Advice on purchasing a used 2007 s550.............?
Hi all,
Ive been looking for weeks for a perfect s550 for myself.
Say I buy one with 50-65k in milage, what do I need to do as far as service?
do I automatically need to change the transmission fluid if it hasnt been done so yet?
My range rover apparently has "transmission fluid for life" but ive read that its not a bad idea to put in new transmission fluid every 80k miles....
anyone swap transmission fluid and everything was normal? nothing degraded or deteriorated or caused codes/faults?
thanks

there is an obvious price difference...
07 with 60-65k miles is around 35, 08 with same mileage with the color that i want is almost 40...
keep in mind i have a house, boat, etc and im only 26...i wish i could but i have most of my money tied up in investments also

I would strongly recommend CPO which will provide you with substantial warranty coverage. With CPO, there is no advantage of one model year over another. There were extremely minor changes in the basic vehicle. The only real change/improvement was in the optional radar based cruise control which added blind spot coverage in more recent models.

It really does not matter what else you have but the advice you have been given is sound. How are you going to pay for your boat and house if after your warranty runs out you have a major repair with an 07? Also just so you know when you buy your car, what you pay for is depreciation and maintenance + repairs. That $35K 07 S550 will be worth about $30K in a year and the $40K S550 will be worth about $35K in a year so your depreciation is about the same.
You came here asking for advice but it appears you don't like or want the advice given to you in that 08+ is recommended due to reliability issue.
