So I was driving down the highway yesterday and I passed a brand new no plates S550 BlueTec and went....HUH?!?!? I have the S350 and wasn't even aware that they came in a 550. I even have a witness that also saw the 550 and both blue badges on the back and side.

So I looked online and I can't find any mention of there being an S550 BlueTec. So now I'm wondering whether it's a new, rare model or someone is playing games with the badges?

That was my guess, but come on!! A brand new $100K car without plates and ALREADY posing...what a joke!!! (PS - Didn't even have the sport package so major poser fail.)

It has the 4.6 twin turbo engine with 435 Hp and 700Nm torque ;in Europe its called blue-efficiency.
Rather then our naturally aspirated 5.5 L engine the new engine is claimed for consuming even 15 percent less fuel then the M273 engine does ;-)

It's still a S350 6-cylinder diesel and it only takes a "5" for the changeover.

Yes marthyh correct, the tag on the side looks like bluetec but it says blue efficiency.

the diesel says bluetec in the back. all the new model S550s have blueefficiency on the side of them.
