Can I add media interface & mip?
Hi all just got a s65 07.
it did not have ipod or media interface when it was built.
Does have the bluetooth puck in the armrest.
I would like to add the media interface to the command center then add the media interface plus bluetooth box.
Or what can be done to have streaming audio from iphone?
I talked to 3 dif dealers about adding one told me the part/kit is not available any more. Other 2 are looking in to it and are not sure if it can be added because it was not installed when the care was built. But they have instal info to do it.

Yep, it's very unfortunate that the 2007-2008 aren't compatible with a lot of the technical upgrades that Mercedes made for the MY 2009+. You could always dump a load of money into getting the Telematic/Command Unit changed out to an 09 model. That's purely if that's even possible. Not really worth it to me so I just had the dealership install the Aux cable in the glove box. Now I can at least use my iPhone to stream Pandora, but not controlled by the Command unit.

I called the Chicago dealer they told me they have done 07s and 08s
Just have to update software on the command center.
And 07-10 are the same command center in less its split screen.
He gave me part # so I called dealer near me they can get the part but never seen it or had it.
So I asked to make sure and they are looking in to it.
Its $400 some change for the kit.
Im to the point I will take ipod plug and add bluetooth adapter and control from iPhone. Or AUX bluetooth adapter.
One company that told me I can do this and has been done was brabus.
And they can put any thing from 10-13 car on a 07 but for a price i bet.
Like spit screen.
I will let every one know more when I find out.

Not luck yet.
Talked to euromotorcars in Bethesda Maryland.
This is one dealer I will not deal with!
They did not care about other dealer telling me what parts are need and that dealer does it and shows it on there web page.
I was in disbelief but now I know y some dont like that dealer.
Any way I found one dealer that has a 09 sclass with ipod.
Im going to check it out and take pics.
If they are all just ipod plug will see if the bluetooth dongle will work.
Ill post pics and info as soon asap.

I checked out the 09 s class and it has the white ipod cable.
Tried the bluetooth ipod adaptor and will not work.
Then found a 2013 with media interface cable. and tried the bluetooth and would not let it play but would power it unlike the white ipod cable would not power.
Talking to mb techs and others like mid city and some say it can be done as in taking a 07-09 and make it have MI but it would take a lot.
I think the ipod with black cable will work but not 100% have not tested it.
If that does not then add a auxiliary like headphone jack.
