Just Purchased 07 s550 *UPGRADES* ideas?

HELLO! This is my new project

Finally i am a member of mb world. I have spent countless hours on here every week and it feels good to be part of the club at last.

Well i just Traded in my 06 range rover for the 07 s550 base model last month
and here is my list of mods i have already completed:

22" staggered Forgiato Rasoio
EBC RedStuff Brake Pads
Lowering Links
Clear/Chrome side marker housings / LED's
LED Parking Lights
LED license Plate Lights
SprintBooster
Aux Input
Illuminated door sills from jerry as of today (Thanks to guys on the forum)
OEM 2012 Tail Lights

I Will post plenty of pictures in the next few days just trying to get my hands on a good camera supposed to my iPhone.

I am looking for the Carlsson command instrument cluster with 200mph speedo, i have seen this done before by CKSperformance any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance

I intend on upgrading to 2012 s63 full bodykit. I really don't mind aftermarket as long as it is Polypropylene and fitment is seamless.
I got a quote on the bodykit with LEDs and Mesh for 2k shipped to my door from a seller here on mb world . I may jump on it
I plan on doing this along with Muffler delete + X pipe with s63 square tips/oval s65 tips. (I like both)

I want to do the Headlight Facelift as well but its too costly imho. LEDS do look phenomenal though. Considering Painting my headlight housing black for a more aggressive look.

After the kit is completed i am going to plastidip ( 1/3 price of vinyl wrap) the car matte white and all chrome trip will be done in gloss black. Painting the wheels to match with a Black face and white lip

What else am i missing?

as you can see it is all about the fine detail for me

....here is the part where i pay homage to Chris the swede for his w221 mods and all the hours i have spent studying his write-ups. lol

My car came without factory input in the glovebox however i have the aux option in command center so i ran a wire to the input behind the radio. Simple 123 for any car electronics store.

My aux wire is coming out of the middle console near the cup hold and cd player. Not the sleekest look in the world but overall very happy with positioning and easily accessible while driving. 120 for the install .. Worth every penny.

Congrats, this is a nice project car
BTW, if you have airmatic shocks in your ride those huge wheels might reduce life span of them hence big repair cost

Looking forward to see this....Headlights are not that price these day though. You can often find them on ebay for a good amount.

Could someone explain to me why "huge wheels" should reduce the life span of the airmatic?? And what is the definition of "huge wheels"?

I have 22" and airmatic (lowered with Star), according to my cars title MB allows 20" wheels for my model. So I have 22" with 295 in the rear, MB allows 20" with 275 in the rear. So 22" is huge I guess and 20" are not?

Think Tobs that has to do with unsprung weight.. apparently larger wheels are heavier and thus put more load on the suspension.
Not so sure as many people on here have them 22's and also ppl with standard everything blow their struts up..

I think 22 's look perfect, but to me it is too great sacrifice for comfort so I ordered 20's..

Anyway congratz to the OP!! Headers exhaust and a tune or a complete engine-tune package from a renown company but carefull if you have 4 matic ,that you do not demolish your drivetrain with excessive power..

Perhaps it's the weight, but it could also be a myth You still have great comfort with the S and 22", believe me

First of all thank you for the compliments. As far as 22" and airmatic suspension goes i don't think i am taking a huge risk. Either way I'm ready for the challenge coming off from a Range Rover big body slammed on 22". It put a tremendous amount of pressure on my suspension and brakes. At about 80k it was noticeable pulling up to a light i would have occasional squealing (don't forget that car is stock with brembo's) and on slow turns you would occasionally hear some clunking.. Lol even the damn dealership i bought my car from gave me 20k on a trade in with 100k miles on my speedometer plus that is sight unseen. Shipped my s550 to my front door and picked up my truck : )

Meanwhile i bought the w221 with 37k miles and I am just under 40k now. 20" wheels may be my next addition coming up for winter, or the 22" concave AMG style wheels found on ebay ....ride comfort with the 22" is smooth as can be but living in new york i am prone to every pothole known to man. These specific forgiato wheels retail at 2k a wheel and 420 a tire lol. My second week driving i had to replace a rear tire driving home from NYC.
Not extremely practical for long island/ or a daily driver but i just love the chrome lips i get a lot of attention on the road.

Major question i forgot to add in my original post. AFTERMARKET WARRANTIES???? i am currently unwarranted and want to be covered head to toe with an exclusive warranty if like u said "My huge wheels reduce the lifespan of my air ride"

Also any owner here with k&n Filters or are they a waste of money? I want to get this big b*tch breathing a little better haha. Ive already added SprintBooster (first generation) on ebay for 70 bucks for quicker acceleration. Along with some high-flow filters and a tune this exhaust build may come out just fine.

I just had the K&N air filter put in a few days ago. Yes, you can feel a slight difference. You'll need 2 filters btw. Do you have the aux cable info that you have installed in your car? I assume it just plug in behind the cd changer? Does your shop sell just the wire. If so I may be interested. Thanks

No i don't know the exact wire info but i do know it was connected into the back of the cd changer. Simple aux wire setup they do this type job all the time. I can ask the shop if they would sell the wire alone. i don't suppose why not

And yes I'm aware about the 2 filters thanks. I may just order them tonight off ebay or something. As for today i just couldn't bear it any longer without tints on my front windows.

My rear 3 windows are 5% and i added 20% today onto of my sungate heat film for the front 2 windows

I wonder if they are able to install the AUX system I have and early '07 that does not have the converters and would have to be custom some shops dont want to go near the COMAND system in fear of labor
