Just got my car back from the tint shop... looks blue-ish?
This is my first Benz so please excuse me if this is common knowledge but I just had a 35% tint applied and the sides look like a reflective blue while the back looks almost dark purple... is this common for this car due to the glass? I was hoping for a blacker color since the car is black

Yes it's a common effect you'll get on this particular car due to the UV protection put into the glass. I've got UV windows on my front doors of my R Class and the tint exemplifies the front window UV protection.
Not really anything you can do short of changing the windows to non UV ones but that seems cost prohibitive.

Woud be interesting to see a couple of images of how it looks like ?
I am actually after a greenish tint, something different from the masses ..

I'll take some pics and upload as soon as I get a chance... it's not super-blue or anything... it's just not as black as I thought or hoped and this is probably largely due to the fact that the car itself is black
I'm in Canada and I'm not sure whether the glass is different between AMG package/no package... just thought I should mention it in case there was a difference

when film is applied over the UV protection is gets the smokey blue. My windows are 5% all around so occasionally depending on the suns rays my windshield will even turn dark purple...i personally love this effect

So no problems with the tint and the acoustic package (heat absorbing membrane)? Radar detectors work fine? Phones work great? No worries about heat build up in the glass? If the tint is on the inside and the heat absorbing membrane is in the glass have you had or heard of any concerns? I have 2 auto tint installers say it will cause excessive heat build up and could crack the glass.
