Since my car is from the US, would i have to take it there for any service bulletin? I believe the idler pulley needs to be replaced as I am getting this constant whining noise from the engine. If I rev the engine slightly the whine gets louder, sort of similar to what a s/c sounds like. Otherwise its a constant whine.

Any thoughts on if its the idler pulley for sure and if a canadian dealer will do the work or do i need to go south?

Thanks again guys!

I paid like $150 and all the whinning went away. No other obvious things came with that service. There is even a campaign number that you can provide to your SA on this site.

DTB S-B-13.22/01e covers upper guide (tightener) pulley part # 2722021019 replacement under warranty (i.e.: CPO, extended, etc.) up to engine # 30 085890 however, MB also released Service Campaign 2008070002 difference being campaigns do not expire therefore repair is covered out of warranty. Arguably, MB Canada should cover both. See diagram here https://mbworld.org/forums/3441190-post2.html

If you do not know your engine #, enter VIN here http://www.auto-parts.spb.ru/cat/cat...&client=dr2000 and click datacard (upper right corner).

PM your email address if you want bulletin copies, include VIN if not in above database I will check engine # and send datacard.
