2007 S Class Navigation Problem

Recently our S Class Navigation system is showing our "on screen" position as several blocks from our actual position. As we drive, it shows us running through homes, back yards, etc. Anyone have this problem, and a possible fix? Any way to reset the GPS positioning?

Fix your GPS antenna or the cable. You might want to test another antenna first, temporarily connected to the rear of the unit.

S class
As a quick update. We took the car into the dealer. They installed the updated software.

Now the cars position shows several cities away.

Does anyone have instructions on how to check the antenna or antenna cable?
I can not find any instructions on this for the S class.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing you could do is read the COMAND manual and set it to display geo-coordinates. If it shows "-" or "0", you would have a better idea on the next step.

The geo-coordinates display will also show you how many satellites are being tracked. Normal operation requires at least 4, ideally 5 or more. If it reports less than 4, this would be a strong indication of an antenna problem. Make your observations while your vehicle is on an open road with no nearby obstructions such as freeway sound walls or lots of tall buildings.
