I like the 2007 and or 2008 S550 because it's in my price range, I want a Black and Tan one, and I would like something a little different than everyone else is driving. This seems to fit the bill. My concerns are that it is no being sold through a MB dealership. The Car Fax looks strange to me as there is not much on it. It is not being sold with a warranty - so i they would add a warranty for $$$$$. Please let me know your thoughts.. The 2nd link takes you to the car fax

 

it looks nice. the Carfax looks fine to me...one owner no accidents. The only consideration is finding an aftermarket warranty since it's over 50k miles

 

Looks like a good car and price. Like that it is a 4matic and has the rear seat options.

For not much more than that there's a 2008 S600 with the same miles and some CPO left for sale in Richmond, VA. I took it out for a drive last weekend and with the exception of a slight judder from 1st to 2nd (that the dealer guy said he hadn't noticed and would be resolved imminently at the dealer along with a minor coolant issue) it drove just fine.

 

this was on the high end of my price point so not sure i want to go any higher for a 600 - what does the 600 have that the 550 doesn't have?

 

Both are nice, but with the second one you lose the designo interior, rear view camera, blind spot assist, pano roof, dynamic seats, distronic, rear seat package, heated steering wheel, and sunblind for the rear doors. However the second one is lower in price and you may be able to talk the dealer down further. Also, be aware that both cars are different shades of black. The first is more of a mocha black which will look like a very dark brown in some shades of light while the second is a true black.

 

Basically the 600 comes fully loaded as far as options go, has several additional interior appointments not available for the 550 and the V12 engine. appreciate the comments, didn't realize that the 2nd one did not have a camera, how much you think it costs to add a camera? i dont really care about most of the other things i would be missing

 

Not sure how much it costs, but I've seen threads where other board members had the rear camera installed.

Something else I noticed about the S550 in the second link. It's advertised as having hands free communication, but the bluetooth module is not present. Perhaps it's still available in the car somewhere, but if you check the car out, I would ask about it.

The standard interior materials are not befitting an S-class

 

I recently got an '08 S550 here in LA, black, fully optioned (Premium 2 package) and an outstanding 24K miles only! Got it as a CPO so my warranty is good till Jan. 2014. I do plan on getting another extended 2 years for $4,500. My point is, with the 2014 model coming out..the used market is getting saturated with the pre-facelifted S 550s. I got mine for $47K..If you look harder..You can even find an '09 model for roughly the same price. Mind you, there are alot of '08, '09's out there with sub 25K mileage. So be patient and look around. Good luck.

 

this one is certified from MB- the Car Fax says 4 owners, the dealer says it only had 2 owners as the owner moved states.

curious as to everyone's thoughts here? thsi one is 5k cheaper than the 08 and is certified. The Car Fax makes me nervous but the MB dealer is jumping up and down claiming it was only owned by 2 people, and one of the owners was at the start for a brief period of time- he claims the owner of this car owned it from 08 to present
