so I happened to have my door open before I put the tranny in "park" in my garage last night. I heard a quick scraping sound coming from the bottom of the car so I started going from park to drive to neutral or reverse and I could hear a quick scraping/ grinding sound every time the tranny was changing position from the bottom. Would anyone with a S550 please try this and let me know if they hear the same sound? Some say it's normal but I have 700+ vehicles in my fleet and I have never heard more than a "click" when tranny changes positions.

I'm pretty sure what you're hearing is normal, its like a swish/ click sound because the transmission selector is electric instead of manual like older cars.
